Fundraising Committee

This committee is responsible for the events that are run by The Rotary Club of Billericay Mayflower. The three biggest events, Billericay Christmas Market, Soapbox Derby and Billericay Summerfest, have operational groups to lead the events that report into the main fundraising committee. The other events, that include quiz nights, Drive-it Day, Music in the Garden, and many others, are run by members of the committee. The funds raised are placed in the club’s charity account, which is subject to audit by the Charity Commission.

Service Projects Committee

The Service Projects Committee is responsible for the dispersement of charity funds raised by the Fundraising Committee. Each of the good causes supported by the club is reviewed by members of the committee against criteria set by Rotary International. This committee is also responsible for applications to the Rotary Foundation Charity, which will match funds raised by the club and, depending on the fund applied to, can double the contribution made by the club. The Rotary Club of Billericay Mayflower has been very successful in recent years at making these applications.

Club Administration Committee

As the name implies, the Club Administration Committee administers the functioning of the club. It is this committee that arranges speakers at each meeting, registers attendance, organises the club’s participation in District sports events, produces our newsletter, organises the website and even checks on the welfare of members, ex-members or their partners.
